One of my friends suddenly found that her phone had put itself in “safe mode”. She had no idea how she had done it and no idea how to get it out of that mode. After looking around on the internet, I found a solution that worked for her.
Pretty easy, but it seemed to work for her.

I have a Samsung Note II phone and that suggestion did not work for me. In fact i read elsewhere that those steps “holding down the volume button” is how you GET IT IN to Safe Mode.
Steps that DID WORK for my phone was:
1. Take off shell, pull out battery
2. disconnect SIM card & extra storage card
3. WAIT ONE ENTIRE MINUTE
4. Put battery back in and reconnect SIM & storage card
5. Turn back on device like normal (no holding down any buttins) just push Power On.
It booted back up into Normal Mode.
An alternative to those steps would be to PLUG IN the phone while the batterry is out for one minute.

None of these suggestions worked for my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. Any other suggestions?
Turning off my phone and turning it back on and pushing the volume up button took the safe mode off my phone!!!

Surprisingly simple, but it WORKED. Husband had no idea how it got in safe mode. I had no idea how to get it out. … he was frustrated and grouchy…. I googled, read the comments, told him what to do, and ta da….. happy… thx for improving our evening ;)
I took out the battery / back in, then powered up while holding down the Menu button.
