    Have you heard of “Let them” by Mel Robbins? This idea has really helped me as a leader, but I think it applies to many other domains in life.

    I haven’t read her book, but I was introduced to this idea via the following episode of the “Slight Change of Plans” podcast by Maya Shankar.

    Most things worth doing are worth doing poorly until you learn to do them well.

    I am learning to compose music and I am really, really bad at it. Anyone who knows anything about composition would cringe at the mistakes I am making.

    A “picopause” is a little loving nudge towards simplicity and serenity.

    Do not use email or texts if the message is at all controversial.

    Email should be used for sharing non-controversial facts (you asked me for information about this mundane, uncontroversial thing, and here is my answer) and for setting up appointments to discuss anything that is likely to result in a back and forth conversation or an argument, or anything that is likely to hurt a person’s feelings.

    Hint: If you find yourself typing “and furthermore”, you need to stop typing, delete everything you wrote, and ask for an appointment to meet up with the person over the phone, in a video call, or in person.

    I call these “and furthermore emails”. Avoid writing “and furthermore emails” and you will stop receiving them.
