This is a movie about a Mexican-American pop star who was killed just as she was about to break into the American market. I remember hearing about the story when it came out, but it didn’t grab my interest enough to watch. As it turns out, the story is definitely tragic, but it is not the best movie around. That said, I didn’t hate it. People who were already Selena fans before watching the movie would probably like it. Jennifer Lopez is fun to watch. I often think I won’t like her work, but she usually does a respectable job. (***)
